An ecovillage. Empower one or many of our 45 member ecovillages to manage and direct their own community development in an eco-friendly and sustainable way. All donations are 100% tax deductible. Sponsor an eco-village to support grassroots development programs from nature conservation to educational initiatives.
Your support directly assists villages in financing and managing existing and new development programs in the following areas:
- Education
- Capacity Building and Training
- Nature Preservation (Ex: Reforestation of Mangroves)
- Solar Energy and Biogas Research and implementation
- Reconstruction and improvement of community infrastructure
- Health and Sanitation
- Microfinance
- Responsible Tourism
An intern or research associate attached to a specific project: Enable us to create and maintain unique projects in sustainable development and cultural awareness by supporting an intern or researcher in launching a specific project.
Here are some things you should know:
- The cost of providing training, room, board and transportation to employees, interns and research collaborators is extremely expensive and therefore many projects never get off the ground or fail to achieve long-term success due to a lack of funds.
- The field of international development is extremely competitive. In order to gain experience, young professionals and academics need to acquire a number of years of working in development before they can work in full-time paid positions. Many of these bright and motivated individuals have difficulty financing their internships and research and fall deeply into debt in the process.
- Our projects are specifically designed with these young professionals and academics in mind. We train the leaders of tomorrow by giving them hands-on experience in grass-roots sustainable development and cross-cultural education today. Our intern and research programs are designed to be "Living Laboratories" in development education. Interns and researchers are encouraged to develop their academic and professional interests within our rigorous academic framework.
