Lead trainers teach trainers in training in the evenings and supervise them the following day. Each day’s training is divided into small sections. A different trainer in trainer teaches each section at the blackboard, while the others stand between the rows of computers to coach the learners.
Interview with a Khadidiatou Faye, who found her first job following EREV Training.
Moustapha Ndiaye, (ICT technical director):
“Hello Khady, can you tell us something us something about yourself and your experience with EREV’s computer training?”
Khadidiatou Faye: My name is Khady, and I’m 24 years old. In fact I completed 12 years of school, but without being able to receive a certificate, and after school I spent three years without finding a job. Finally, in September 2008 I discovered and enrolled in the CRESP[1] computer training. When I finished the program, I submitted my certificate with a letter requesting a job to Copy Space, in Yoff. They hired me and I am working here as a paid intern. Copy space is a cybercenter, that also offers word processing, scanning and printing.
Moustapha Ndiaye: How did you like the instruction you received?
Khady: When I came to enroll, I had never touched a computer and had no ideas about them. But the training I got was easy to follow and the certificate has made it possible for me to find work. Now I am interested in studying more. I would also like to come back to EREV to learn how to work with pictures, to make business cards, and invitations that our clients are asking for. I also would like to study web design, and specially computer maintenance. I also hope that EREV will have more professional courses. For example, I would like to become the secretary to the director of a company.
