Work-Study for International Students
If you are interested in enrolling for credit in the Living Routes program on a reduced-rate, work-study basis, you should email us in addition to applying through Living Routes. We take responsibility for your admission in collaboration with Living Routes, and we normally admit only one candidate per program. Admission depends on the "work" needed from the work-study student. We are sometimes able to provide free admission to bilingual undergraduates for taking lecture notes in French, translating documents between English and French, and helping with office work. Other work-study students may also use their experience to satisfy internship requirements or to collect thesis data.
Work-study students applying as student coordinators will ideally have some experience in program coordination and in living in a Francophone African country, as well as major academic interests related to sustainable development. Please email for more information. In your email, please attach a recent CV and include a personal statement of interest.
Reduced Rates for Students with Parents in Senegal
We offer reduced tuition of $10,000 for sustainable development, to international students whose parents currently live in Senegal. This tuition includes room and board. For an additional $1,000, the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, provides transcripts with grades for each course. These credits are widely transferable to universities throughout the US and around the world.
Our Dakar office enrolls international students into this semester program in consultation with Living Routes, which integrates them into Living Routes student and alumni activities.
